Metrozole Oral Suspension is an antibacterial and antiprotozoal medication. It works by disrupting the DNA of microorganisms, inhibiting their growth and replication. It is used to treat infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, such as:

• Blood, brain, lung, bone, genital tract, pelvic area, stomach and intestinal infections.
• Gum ulcers and other dental infections.
• Infected leg ulcers and pressure sores.
• Preventing infections after surgery.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and children over 10 years:
  • For certain bacterial infections: Take 10ml (400mg) of Metrozole Suspension once every 8 hours.
  • For amebiasis: 750 mg (2 tablespoons) three times daily for 5 to 10 days.
  • For giardiasis: Either 2 grams (8 dessertspoonfuls) daily for 3 days or 250 mg (1 dessertspoonful) two to three times daily for 5 to 10 days.
  • For trichomoniasis: One-day treatment: 2 grams (8 dessertspoonfuls) as a single dose or in two divided doses (1 gram each); Seven-day treatment: 250 mg (1 dessertspoonful) three times daily for seven days.
  • For bacterial vaginosis: 500 mg (2 dessertspoonfuls) twice daily for 7 days.
  • For clostridium difficile colitis: 250 mg (1 dessertspoonful) four times daily for 5 to 10 days.
  • For dental infections: 200 mg (1 dessertspoonful) three times daily for 3 to 7 days.
• Children and infants: The dose will depend on their weight. Repeat the dose every 8 hours.

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. It is important to finish a full course of treatment. Shake the oral suspension well before each use.
