1. Biocompatibility: Both PLLA and PEG have good biocompatibility. This copolymer has overall low toxicity and low immunogenicity. After implantation in the human body, it will not cause obvious inflammation or rejection reactions. Moreover, PEG can dissolve in human tissue fluid, and low-molecular-weight PEG can also be excreted from the body through the renal filtration membrane.
2. Biodegradability: The PLLA chain segments can be gradually degraded into small molecule substances in the body and excreted through metabolism. The PEG chain segments do not accumulate harmful substances in the body, and the entire degradation process has no adverse effects on the body, meeting the environmental protection and safety requirements of biomedical materials.
3. Adjustable hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity: It belongs to amphiphilic materials, with PEG being the hydrophilic section and PLLA being the hydrophobic section. By adjusting the ratio of the two and the length of the chain segments, the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the material can be flexibly regulated, thereby changing its degradation rate and drug release behavior.

②. Main application fields
1. Drug delivery system: With its amphiphilic structure, it can self-assemble into micelles or nanoparticles. The hydrophobic PLLA core can encapsulate hydrophobic anti-tumor drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., and the hydrophilic PEG shell can prolong the time of drugs in the bloodstream and reduce the probability of being cleared by the immune system. At the same time, by adjusting the molecular weight and the proportion of chain segments, the release rate of the drug can be precisely controlled, thereby enhancing the stability and effectiveness of the drug's action.
2. Tissue Engineering: Fiber scaffolds can be prepared through electrospinning and other techniques to simulate extracellular matrix, providing support for the growth and adhesion of cells in skin, bone and other tissues, and facilitating tissue repair and regeneration. For instance, in skin tissue engineering, its scaffold can promote the migration of skin cells and accelerate wound healing. When used for bone tissue-related scaffolds, it can take into account both support and degradability, and is suitable for the bone regeneration cycle.
3. Medical devices and regenerative medical aesthetics: On the one hand, they can be used to manufacture biodegradable sutures, bone screws, etc. Their mechanical strength can meet the surgical requirements, and they can degrade by themselves after surgery, avoiding the need for secondary surgery to remove them.
