Epithalon Peptide, also known as Epitalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine. It is derived from Epithalamin, a natural peptide extract from the pineal gland. The primary mechanism of action of Epithalon involves the activation of telomerase, an enzyme responsible for maintaining and extending the length of telomeres, the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes. Telomeres naturally shorten with each cell division, contributing to cellular aging and senescence. By promoting telomerase activity, Epithalon can delay telomere shortening, potentially extending cellular lifespan. Additionally, Epithalon regulates melatonin production in the pineal gland, which helps normalize circadian rhythms and improve sleep quality.
