Description

Product Application:
Human Insulin Injection is a hormone preparation with a structure exactly the same as that of human endogenous insulin, which is prepared through recombinant DNA technology or biological extraction. It is mainly used for blood sugar control in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. According to the duration of action, it is classified into short-acting, medium-acting and premixed types. It is a basic drug for the treatment of diabetes.

Mechanism of action and key clinical points

Mechanism of action: It binds to insulin receptors in target cells (liver, muscle, fat), promotes glucose uptake and utilization, inhibits hepatic glucose output, and reduces blood sugar. Simultaneously regulate the metabolism of fat and protein.

Administration method:
Short-acting: Subcutaneous injection 15 to 30 minutes before meals. Intravenous infusion can be given in emergency cases.
Medium-potency/premixed: Subcutaneous injection before bedtime or before breakfast and dinner. Do not use intravenously.
Injection site: Abdomen (fastest absorption), thigh, upper arm. Alternate to avoid fat hyperplasia.

Adverse reactions:
Hypoglycemia (the most common, manifested as palpitations, sweating, dizziness, and in severe cases, coma);
Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching, fat atrophy/hyperplasia);
Long-term use may lead to weight gain.
Contraindications and caution: Contraindicated for those allergic to human insulin or excipients. Dosage adjustment should be made on an individual basis for patients with impaired liver or kidney function, the elderly, and those during pregnancy or lactation. Premixes should not be used for diabetic ketoacidosis.
